Hilton Chicago O’Hare Airport

A large-scale permanent installation located beneath the Hilton Chicago O’Hare Airport hotel. I had the opportunity to collaborate with Graypants Studio on the fabrication of this piece.

Inspired by the site’s history as an apple orchard, the installation represents the hidden network of tree roots beneath the orchard. Three individual sculptures were created, each completely unique and one of a kind. Every form was built entirely by hand using wire and paper, creating organic root-like structures that stretch across the space.

Together, the three installations transform the history beneath the site into a sculptural experience through scale, material, and light.
